Centennial's Certiport Authorized Test Centre is conveniently located at Progress Campus where we offer Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification exams to students, employees, alumni and community members.

When you pass an MOS certification exam, you:

Registration

1 - ONLINE:

Full-time students may NOT use this method of registration. Only Non-full-time students may register using this method.

  • To Register, click on the MSOF date (below) that you wish to take the MOS exam.   
  • You may take ANY ONE of the exams listed below on any of the MSOF dates.
  • You will select the exam you wish to complete when you are signing in to take the exam on the exam date. We do not need to know your choice before then. 

2 - PHONE or IN-PERSON:

Both full-time students and non-full-time students may register through one of the following methods:

  • Phone the Registration Office at 416-289-5300 and refer to the MSOF session date below when calling. The Registration desk does not know the MOS exam codes or other information regarding Microsoft. This office simply books your date using the MSOF code then accepts your payment. 
  • In-person at the Hub (Registration Desk at any Campus). Refer to the MSOF session below.

Fees

$70 (tax included) per Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Exam.

Registration payment includes ONE MOS exam (electronic voucher) good for ONE exam attempt (no retake vouchers available). The voucher is an internal voucher and is only valid at Centennial's Certiport Authorized Test Center (CATC) and cannot be transferred or used at another test center.  For additional information please email certiport@centennialcollege.ca

Cancellation

To cancel or change a scheduled exam date, you must contact our Registrar's office at least 24 hours prior to the exam date (phone number above). Refunds will not be provided for non-attendance or cancellations made on the same date as the exam. Candidates must check their myCentennial email account for messages from the College. 

Accommodation for Accessibility

Certiport is committed to providing exam access to all individuals with disabilities.  If you require accommodation please refer to the Certiport Accommodation website for information on how to apply. Accommodation approvals come from Certiport directly and are between the candidate and Certiport and may take two or three weeks to obtain.  Please do not book an exam until you have received email confirmation from Certiport regarding your accommodation request.  If you gain approval please email certiport@centennialcollege.ca to inform the CATC that you require an extended time for your MOS exam so we can schedule an longer session for you. 

External Exam Vouchers

We are not able to accept external exam vouchers at this time (vouchers purchased elsewhere, online, etc.).  We provide electronic MOS exam vouchers that must be used at the Centennial College CATC location and are not transferable to other CATC locations. You may use the CATC locator to locate a CATC that may accept external vouchers.

Upon registration you will be provided a student number (if you don't already have one) and you will receive an xxx@my.centennialcollege.ca email account.  You will be contacted by the College using this email. First-time login at https://my.centennialcollege.ca  - the User ID is the student number provided by the College, and the password is (MMDDYY, 2-digit month, 2-digit day, 2-digit year).  You will be prompted to change the password.

2. What technical requirements do I need if I am registering for an ONLINE exam (EFH)?

Exams from Home (EFH) Technical requirements (Test Candidate)

  •  Laptop or Desktop with Windows 10, Windows 11, or Mac OSX Sierra 10.12 or higher
  • Chromebook with a current operating system (OS)
  • The language of the OS on your computer must match the exam language you are scheduled to take
    Keyboard, mouse, and webcam
  • Recommended minimum screen resolution of 1280 x 800
  • The preferred internet browser is Chrome. Internet Explorer, Edge, and Safari are also acceptable
  • You will need the ability to download and execute a program file from your browser (see the user guide at https://certiport.com for info on managed Chromebook devices)
  • A bandwidth download speed of at least 10Mbps*

*Important: Before using Exams from Home (EFH), we strongly encourage all users to test their bandwidth to verify it is adequate and ensure the session will not be interrupted. A reputable third-party site you may use is https://www.speedtest.net. Ensure other members of your household are offline during the bandwidth test and during your actual exam session. Your Exam Administrator (Proctor) will use a third-party software such as Teams or Zoom to communicate or perform an identity/environment check during your session, which could exceed the 10Mbps baseline in the requirements.

6. Is there a practice test software I can use to help me prepare for the MOS exam?

The MOS exams are for candidates who know the software and use it.  You should have proven and well-developed skills in the software before attempting a Microsoft Office Specialist industry-standard, globally recognized exam.

Many candidates use GMetrix to practice and test their skills before taking a MOS exam. Read more about GMetrix Practice Test Software  GMetrix software can be purchased online for approximately $75. GMetrix can be installed on a Windows device after Office 2019 is installed.
