My disability as a Deaf person is one piece of my identity, but it does not define the whole of who I am. I have my privilege as a Deaf person, and I can do anything except my hearing to empower me to make a difference and prove to others that my disability did not pull me down or affect my dreams or goals. As a student at Centennial College, I had the opportunity to educate other classmates and professors about Deaf awareness and more. It helped me grow my ability to show who I am, and my hard work to complete my dreams/goals indicates that I did not give up. I made good friends and colleagues at Centennial College and will never forget those incredible experiences.
