Scarborough MPP Doly Begum hosting community meeting on road safety

Date:
Venue:Variety Village

On Sunday, September 24, Scarborough-Southwest MPP Doly Begum is hosting a community meeting on road safety from 12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Variety Village in Scarborough.

In 2022, MPP Begum co-sponsored a private member’s bill entitled Moving Ontarians Safely Act along with MPP’s Bhutila Karpoche, Jessica Bell and Joel Harden. This legislation is a critical step towards enshrining proper education and justice measures into the law, aiming to prevent further tragedies caused by unsafe roads.

The meeting is open to everyone. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. If you are interested in attending. RSVP NOW.

In the fall of 2022, Centennial College launched the Road Side Safety Campaign which promotes safe driving and crossing habits among our community members and the broader Scarborough community. We will be engaging our community partners and are planning to launch the campaign in November.

The Roadside Safety Campaign is a collaborative effort that brings together Centennial College, the Toronto Police, Metrolinx, and the TTC. Through this joint approach, we seek to leverage our collective expertise and resources to drive meaningful change and promote road safety.
