Gender and Sexuality 101: Exploring allyship and safe(r) spaces

The Queering Community Student Collective Welcomes you to come to our inclusive workshop with a guest speaker from the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity. 

This workshop serves as an introduction to gender and sexuality, emphasizing action and allyship. The session will delve into the concept of safe spaces and the methods to create inclusive environments within higher education settings. Participants will gain an understanding of the distinctions between gender identity, gender expression, and biological sex. The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD) will present an intersectional approach to addressing the needs of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ communities through this interactive workshop. Through this interactive activity, attendees will apply their understanding and pinpoint areas for improvement in 2SLGBTQQIA+ inclusion and advocacy. They will also brainstorm ways to incorporate their newfound knowledge into their daily lives and institutional practices.
