Conversation for Social Change: Art as Resistance: Utilizing Unique Forms of Expression to Challenge Anti-Black Racism
Date:
Venue:Online
The College is closed on Good Friday, April 3. Student learning continues over the weekend, with classes, online resources, and library access available.
Throughout history, art has been used as a powerful form of resistance against oppressive systems. This Conversation for Social Change will bring together Black artists who are using quilts, colouring books and tattoos to challenge anti-Black racism, promote Black history and uplift Black histories and perspectives. They will share their personal journeys with these unique forms of expression and inspire the audience to use creativity in the pursuit of social justice.
This event is part of Centennial's Black History Month celebrations.
