Bryan Winters

Speaker of the Nunatsiavut Assembly, Ordinary Member for the Constituency of Canada

Bryan Winters is of Inuk and Irish Newfoundland descent from Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Labrador. Winters' professional career includes nearly ten years of work in the trades across Inuit Nunangat on the North Warning System for Nasittuq Corporation, time at the Inuit Art Foundation and as the inaugural Executive Director of the Toronto Inuit Association. Prior to being elected to the Nunatsiavut Assembly, he was the Senior Manager of Partnerships and Special Projects at Small Economy Works and an instructor of Entrepreneurial Leadership for Inspire Nunavut. He studies Public Administration and Governance at First Nations Technical Institute in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory and at Toronto Metropolitan University. Bryan has lived in Toronto since 2017 with prior stops in Halifax and Montreal but is always excited for any opportunity to spend time on the land back in Labrador and in the territories.
