To comply with the new definition of fully vaccinated announced by the Ontario government on October 5, 2021, Centennial College may now only consider individuals who received a full series of vaccines authorized by Health Canada to be fully vaccinated.
If you are on campus for the fall 2021 semester and received a full series of Sinovac or Sinopharm, please take the steps below immediately to ensure that your studies are not interrupted.
- By Friday, October 15, get one dose of an mRNA vaccine approved by Health Canada, administered at clinics across Scarborough, including the clinic at Progress Campus. (You are fully vaccinated after 14 days.)
- The College will change your status in the Campus Safety Watch App to Partially Vaccinated. While in this status, you are required to begin rapid antigen testing at home and to show a negative test each time you come onto campus. To be valid, the test must have been conducted with the past 48 hours, and not about to expire.
- You have the option of picking up a free rapid antigen testing kit (while supplies last) from the College if you agree to take part in a COVID-19 study.
We realize this will be unsettling for those of you previously considered to be fully vaccinated. You will need to act immediately to ensure you comply with Centennial’s COVID-19 Immunization Policy, which requires all students to be either fully vaccinated or approved for an exemption by the October 30 deadline.
Questions or concerns? We recommend you reach out to your medical provider if you have questions about the timing of your approved vaccine.
