Rick leads health, wellness, and student accessible learning services and strategy at Centennial College. Rick's doctoral research focuses on the impacts of oppressive structures and minority stress on mental health and learning among postsecondary students with marginalized identities.
Rick also examines the impacts of childhood adversity and trauma on mental health and learning in emerging adult populations, and the developmental neurobiology of systems subserving attention and anxiety. Rick’s professional work and leadership in education have focused on enhancing the responsivity of mental health and accessible learning services in postsecondary education while creating educational conditions where all learners have equitable opportunities to reach their personal, academic and career aspirations.
