Secondary School students, aged 16 and over, in Ontario who face challenges in completing the requirements for graduation, but have the potential to succeed in College or an Apprenticeship, including disengaged students who are at risk of not graduating, and students who left school before graduating, but have returned to earn their diploma. Students in Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) programs and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) are also eligible to participate in specified courses. Eligible students must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to the program. Students in Grades 11 and 12 are prioritized for eligibility.

The majority of courses are taken at a Centennial College campus.

Most dual credit students will be congregated with other secondary school students from a variety of high schools.
Classes start at the beginning of each secondary school semester in September and February.
There is no cost to students. Transportation, tuition, registration, textbooks and transcripts are paid for by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development and the Ministry of Education through the School College Work Initiative.
Student transportation to and from the campus is included in the program.
Attendance is very important. Attendance is carefully documented, and it is shared with the student’s secondary school.
Students who register in dual credits have access to most of the same facilities at Centennial as all full-time students.

If you are attending Centennial College, the course(s) will be in your record, and you should specify this to the Registrar when you apply as an internal candidate. If you attend another College, you will have to apply for transfer credit, and you will need to provide that institution with your official Centennial transcript and a copy of your Dual Credit course outline.
