Description
Learners will study what makes a tourist destination popular or unpopular and the role of the tourist in selecting an appropriate tourism product. Moving beyond basic knowledge of attractions and destinations, this course will put students in the role of destination and attraction managers to analyze how product development and promotion drives visitation, the social-economic impact of destination development, life cycle of a destination as well as strategies and tactics on building visitor centric attractions. Specific focus will explore economic development concepts and distribution of entertainment into the tourism industry.
