Description | This course is designed to allow students to advance their knowledge about the vehicle’s drive train system. Students will learn the principle and operation of the pull type clutch and how to adjust and maintain this type of clutch system. Students will also be taught how a multiple counter shaft transmission operates and why it is used in heavy duty transmissions. Students will also study the auxiliary section of the heavy duty transmission in detail. To better understand how the multiple counter shaft transmission works and to gain extensive knowledge in diagnosing and repairing of the said component, Students will perform disassembling, Inspecting and reassembling of the transmission. Students will also study the purpose and fundamentals of multiple speed and double reduction drive axle assemblies and power divider for the tandem drive assemblies. They will be able to describe the operating principles of the multiple speed and double reduction drive axle assemblies and the power divider tandem drive assemblies. Students will practically be able to perform disassembly, inspection, testing, diagnostic and reassembly procedures on multiple speed and double reduction drive axle assemblies’ and power dividers for the tandem drive assemblies. |
