| Description | This course builds upon the general principles of behaviour management techniques that were introduced in DSWP-120. The focus is on Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Students will learn how to utilize positive behavioural approaches specifically with people who have developmental disabilities. There will be a focus developing programs and plans, which will enhance the quality of life for these individuals. Throughout the course, the emphasis will be on supporting individuals to accomplish their goals, including inclusive education and customized employment. The focus of the curriculum is on youth transition, work, life in the community, augmentative communication, core curriculum adaptations and modifications that meet the learners individualized needs, and technology-enhanced learning. Employment support, job coaching and positive behaviour strategies are investigated. |
