Advanced Switching and Routing

Course Code NET-224
Lecture hours per week 2
Lab hours per week 2
Course Availability: Open

This course builds upon the theoretical and practical concepts developed in NET120 (Introduction to Switching and Routing). It provides an in-depth understanding of the role of switching and routing in building local area networks and internets in large scale and global business operations. Theoretical and practical concepts of LAN switching protocols, advanced IP routing protocols, and routing algorithms are explored in detail. Students also explore the advanced operation of switches and routers in a lab environment and expand their knowledge of advanced networking protocols. Working individually and in teams, students will configure advanced protocols in various networking environments and analyze their response.
