Description
Critical decision making and sound clinical practice in the paramedic field requires a working knowledge of pathophysiology, pharmacology, medical technological skills and professional and person ethics. In this course students will continue to develop an understanding o0f various complex alterations in human body function from a variety of pathophysiogical topics within the area of prehospital emergency care. Physiologic alterations will be discussed in terms of their potential life threat, their effect of the body’s compensatory and decompensatory mechanisms, their manifestations and complications and treatment. The student will be required to identify manifestations and explain the possible physiological basis for their occurrences.
