Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

Participants in this course will examine dimensions of conflict relevant to dispute resolution apart from traditional litigation, including: various bargaining theories, methods of mediation applicable to a variety of situations, and among other factors which influence dispute resolution alternatives, awareness of self, culture, gender and power. Participants will develop and refine communication and active listening skills. Participants will be responsible to optimize learning opportunities by attending and participating in an interactive learning environment which includes lectures and class discussion together with individual, small and large group, experiential learning opportunities.
