Analytics for Occupational Health and Safety Management

Description

In this course students are introduced to basic qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, how to apply them to various Occupational Health and Safety problems and how to interpret and communicate the results effectively for improved decision-making. Students will learn how to apply analytics to three important areas of Occupational Health and Safety. First, the investigation and analysis of factors contributing to accidents and other health and safety concerns. Second, the application of analytics to risk management to recognize and control risks; and. Third, the use and interpretation of data concerning occupational injury, illness, and hazardous exposures. Students will also learn how to use both Excel and SAS to analyze Occupational Health and Safety data, identify relevant metrics, assess key performance indicators and present findings in an actionable form.
