| Description | This microcontroller course focuses on advance level applications involving synchronous and asynchronous I/O. Students incorporate microcontroller devices into larger application systems involving multiple device modules. To this end, students will learn to make use of microcontroller communication such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, etc... More advanced peripherals, such as TFT touch screen will be used where students will employ higher-level C libraries in their own application. Application programs will be written primarily in C, and implementing assembly level functions where appropriate. The targeted hardware is the PIC24 family of microcontrollers, with focus on sufficient abstraction (using C) to easily port to other families of PIC microcontrollers (PIC16, PIC18, PIC32, dsPIC). |
