Applied Dynamics

Course CodeMT-224
Lecture hours per week4
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description
This course deals with the kinematics (i.e. – velocities and accelerations) of rigid bodies in plane motion. In addition to utilizing vector polygons for velocity and acceleration, the technique of instantaneous centre of rotation is used for velocities. The kinematics analysis is then applied to carry out a Kinetic (mass-force) analysis by utilizing D’Alemberts Principle. Also covered are rolling motion and unbalanced rolling members. Classroom time will be spent on learning activities related to theory and the solution of practical problems.
