| Description | This course deals with both the kinematics and kinetics of rigid bodies in plane motion. Emphasis will be on the application of theory to solve practical problems involving translation, rotation, and general plane motion. The concept of relative motion will be applied to the analysis of basic mechanisms. D’Alembert’s Principle will be applied to rolling motion, non-centroidal rotation, and the rolling of an unbalanced wheel. |
