Description

This course has been designed to address the academic needs of college student in the Architectural Technology and Technician Programs. The course provides emphasis on introducing students to physics topics that are essential to understanding Architecture. Students will develop an understanding of statics concepts - the external forces acting on structural systems, the internal forces that result from external forces, equilibrium of objects using free body diagrams, cross sectional geometric properties of commonly used beam and column shapes - as it applies to architecture and building construction.
