Description | This course introduces the students to Honda history and vehicles including identification codes for both vehicles and major component parts. Students will become familiar with the recommended trade practices and procedures, which covers safety considerations for tool and equipment use, general shop safety, and personal safety concerns. This course will introduce students to business practices and procedures applicable to the automotive repair trade. Participants will receive instruction in fluid power systems, which form the basis of such automotive systems as brakes, automatic transmissions and fuel systems. Students will also be introduced to air conditioning principles, systems and controls as well as ozone depletion prevention measures and regulations. Students will learn diagnosis, testing and servicing of A/C systems. This course will also include procedures for oxyacetylene, gas metal, and shielded metal welding. Students must complete all assignments and lab exercises to keep up, and some independent study is recommended. |
