Description | This course introduces the students to Toyota history and vehicles including identification codes for both vehicles and major component parts. Students will become familiar with the recommended trade practices and procedures which cover safety considerations for tool and equipment use, general shop safety, and personal safety concerns. Students will also be introduced to air conditioning principles, systems and controls as well as ozone depletion prevention measures and regulations. Students will learn diagnosis, testing and servicing of A/C and climate control systems. Students will also receive instruction and practice with oxy-acetylene torch equipment and principles to allow them to perform heating and cutting and of steel. Students must complete all assignments and lab exercises to the satisfactory level of the course. Attendance is vital, and students are urged to seek extra help if they need it. Students must keep up and some independent study is recommended. |
