| Description | The work throughout this course will represent the culmination of a student's academic journey in the field of software engineering technology – artificial intelligence. Students are required to work in teams to research, design, develop, and prototype an “Artificial Intelligence application” for a company/public group or industry partner to address a real-world problem. In the first part of this course, students will develop an “AI capability". The AI capability can involve acquiring datasets and performing exploratory data analysis then learning one or several AI algorithms, or it can be developed around pre-trained models to produce an optimized/tuned AI capability. In the latter part of the course, they will incorporate this capability within a full-stack application. Students will take into account the AI ethical and regulatory aspects related to the project. The project will involve: research activities, problem-solving, project work (teamwork), and oral and written communication. |
