Course CodeGNED-199
Lecture hours per week
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description

The students will learn the basic steps and a few variations of four International Ballroom dances (Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and Samba), and three Latin Dances (Salsa, Merengue and Bachata). The material will also include the history and cultural background of the dances.

Dances are learned as a communication skill-set, similar to a language, which contribute to personal and interpersonal development. The students will learn a variety of social skills related to behavior in a formal or semi-formal and social environment, such as a ball, dinner-dance, and business gatherings that include dancing. As part of this course, the students will be required to research, analyze and present information regarding the history and cultural background of the dances taught.

Last, but not least, the students will acquire a hobby that can last a lifetime and lead to positive change in their lifestyle.
