| Description | Building on the knowledge acquired in PB 702, students will have an opportunity to examine the role of an editor beyond the basics of copyediting and proofreading. Book editors have many responsibilities in a publishing company, including acquisitions, list-building, substantive editing, scheduling, and production. They must also understand the mechanics of preparing indices, choosing illustrations, writing captions, preparing editor’s notes, and acting as an inter-departmental liaison. |
