Description

This course follows the “narrative” of a book’s development in order to examine the twin roles of sales and marketing. The course emphasis will be on two critical skills: communicating and selling. Students will explore the course material through a variety of case studies, class presentations, and individual and group projects. Students will discover the broad range of skills employed in sales and marketing, and the ways in which these skills complement the publishing enterprise. They will receive training in selling and marketing books via group and individual exercises.
