| Description | Computer-Aided Design with Digital Twin is a tool used to quickly develop and validate designs. This course provides students with the knowledge required to move from concept to design realization. Students are introduced to SolidWorks software in a managed environment (Siemens Teamcenter PLM), which allows them to use various tools to create efficient models according to requirements and to use them to create assemblies and drawings. In addition, this application allows students to fully document models and/or assemblies in two- and three-dimensional views, and to generate manufacturing information using required product data, including views (projected, sections, details, auxiliary, aligned) and bills of materials in an efficient manner. CAD software allows for data reuse, faster development time, and virtual prototyping to reduce errors and costs, improve design documentation, and shorten time to market. Managing information in Siemens Teamcenter PLM teaches students about product lifecycle management, the meaning and use of revisions and statuses, and working in a concurrent engineering environment. |
