Description | This course is divided into two parts. Initially you will learn to assimilate, from both the public and medical institutions an accurate medical and geographical history using a solid interview process or algorithm. Learn also to critically think and problem-solve through the many diverse and interesting situations this profession will offer. During the second part of this course, you will switch from call taker to dispatcher and use radio tools previously learned to pass on all necessary information to the crews be they ambulance, fire or police. In this 2nd phase you will explore the concept of balanced emergency coverage and the strategic planning involved with all travel within one’s encatchment area. In this part of the program, some time will also be spent working within the CAD (computer assisted dispatch) environment. |
