Description

In this course, students will learn the fundamental skills necessary to utilize computer-aided machining (CAM) software efficiently to generate three-dimensional objects, create complex machining toolpaths and optimize CNC processes specific to CNC lathes. Learners will plan and execute CNC lathe programming, setup and operation. In addition, the Machine Shop portion of the lab component of this course is project-driven. Students will acquire the course objectives through the manufacture of an individually manufactured project assembly using manual machine shop equipment such as saws, drills, mills and lathes while adhering to current safety practices and guidelines.
