| Description | The class is designed to prepare students for both their internship in sixth semester and future broadcast & film careers. Students will create a portfolio of their work that will be promoted through a website that they will also design, using popular web templates. They will edit existing projects into a professional demo reel and create a new calling card portfolio project to showcase their skills. They will learn how to use social media, both traditional and new methods, to get their projects and themselves recognized. In addition, students will learn how to prepare themselves to work as a freelancer and/or operate their own production company. The course is delivered through a combination of classroom instruction, guest lectures, solo and group assignments, recommended readings, weekend workshops, and one-on-one mentoring meetings.
