| Description | This course equips Social Service Worker students with the essential case management and advocacy skills needed to support diverse client populations. Through practical case studies, role-playing, and applied learning, students will develop competencies in assessment, planning, implementation, documentation, and service coordination. Emphasis is placed on trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally responsive practices in navigating systemic barriers such as homelessness, mental health challenges, and discrimination. Students will learn to compose professional case notes, develop individualized support plans, collaborate with interprofessional teams, and advocate for clients' rights while upholding ethical and legal standards. The course fosters a deeper understanding of social justice, empowerment, and systemic change to better serve marginalized communities. |
