China is one of the world’s oldest and continuous civilizations. Its past and present influence makes it an unavoidable subject when studying global economy and politics. Over the course of the term, the students will learn the journey of China’s transformation from an ancient imperial and agrarian country to a modern industrialized country. Students will explore a variety of perspectives in Chinse history, culture, people, religions, philosophy, languages, traditions and geography. Students will gain a deeper understanding of factors that have contributed to its socioeconomic achievements and trends under the historical and cultural contexts. |
