Description

This course outlines the practices of Civil Engineering design and construction. Emphasis is placed on the preparation and interpretation of contract documents, the planning of projects, the design and construction phases and engineering materials. The use, and comparisons of, the primary Engineering Construction materials of Steel, Concrete and Asphalt will be covered. The concepts of Forces and their application in Structural Design will be used in calculations. Special emphasis of this course is in the application of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Civil Engineering Design.
