Description | This practical reporting course will form part of the foundation of the Contemporary Journalism program. Working in the classroom and in the community with mobile devices, students will develop a basic proficiency level in journalistic reporting and writing techniques, starting with simple news stories and proceeding through live events to feature coverage. Through research and practice, students will gain an understanding of news judgment and value, the importance of finding and developing credible sources and the techniques of interviewing. The importance of editing and curating – the student’s own work and that produced by others – will be covered in a dedicated module. |
