Description | This course will provide learners with skills and techniques to enable them to exchange meaning reciprocally through interaction with people and/or basic listening segments. This course consists of a series of five learning modules designed for elementary language learners. Students will exchange meaning reciprocally through successful communicative interaction with people and/or texts in the context of everyday situations. Students will begin to develop listening skills including making predictions, listening for the main idea and details, and listening for key vocabulary words to aid in comprehension like sequence markers. Students will begin to develop aural skills including various social conversation patterns and techniques, giving opinions by expressing likes and dislikes in classroom discussion, and culturally appropriate conversation in various social situations. Particular emphasis will be applied to learner-centered and communicative-based activities with an outcomes-based education approach taken. Students will actively participate in classes. |
