| Description | This course will introduce you to the written prescription, Latin abbreviations, dosage forms and the information on a prescription required by law. Generic and brand name recognition will be stressed. The history of trends and issues in pharmacy, pharmacy organizations, standards of practice, and pharmacy jurisprudence will also be covered. You will be introduced to the role of the pharmacy technician and pharmacist in a community setting. Practice with supervision, receiving, dispensing and releasing prescriptions through simulations, role-playing and other teaching techniques.
