Description

This course examines key legal and ethical issues facing Canadian journalists, including the challenges of “fake news” and “alternative facts” which strike at the heart of what journalism is about. The accent is on the practical: discussions of what journalism is, what a journalist needs to know to avoid legal problems, to protect their interests and to develop strategies for handling ethical challenges associated with operating in an evolving digital world powered by social media.
