Description: This course introduces the fundamentals of data centre technologies, and analyses links between hardware and operating cost, power consumption, environmental sustainability, virtualization, and data centre efficiency. Students attend four hours of class per week split between lectures and labs. The theory classes cover fundamental information relating to data centre technologies and virtualization, and the theory lessons are enhanced through hands-on lab activities that include various types of relevant data centre equipment and software.
