Description
This course introduces current data communications and networking principles from the software developer’s perspective. The topics include the OSI and TCP/IP networking models, Internet Protocols, Introduction to Socket Programming, Circuit Switching and Packet Switching, WAN/LAN/WLAN, Routing, QoS Issues and Architectures, Analog and Digital signals, Transmission Impairments and Channel Capacity, Signal Encoding, Data Link Control Issues and Modulation. The course is designed to make the students easily understand the concepts in data communications and networking technologies.
