Description | Emphasis is placed on examining the impact of societal values and attitudes of the lives of persons with intellectual disabilities. Students will be introduced to the theory of Social Role Valorization (formerly Normalization) as a positive conceptual base upon which to consider their own underlying values. Exploration of the role of the Developmental Services Worker, supporting people with disabilities within service systems, is a theme throughout this course.
