Description

In this course the student will examine the stages of growth and development from infancy to adulthood and will explore the supportive role of the Personal Support worker when working with clients across the lifespan to meet the client's unique and individualized and supportive care needs. 

In this course the student will study the characteristics of families today regarding culture, structure, function, lifestyles and needs. The student will develop the skills necessary to assist clients and families. A focus on the effects of illness and/or disability, stress, the adjustments for families, and the role of the Personal Support worker in providing support will also be explored.
