Description | This course expands the objectives taught in Jig & Fixture design, to the complex field of Die Design. Using a CAD environment (ACAD 2000), the student will develop and produce General Assembly Drawings for a Pierce & Blank and a 3 Stage Progressive Die. Development of the ‘part drawing’ will take in all of the necessary components of Die Design. Emphasis will be on material selection, strip layout, punch design, die block, stripper plate and die calculations. The method of instruction will be topical lectures and hands-on lab instruction at the computer work station. Prerequisite: CEMT-201 (materials fee included; text extra) |
