Description | In this course, Digital Communications, students will study the fundamentals of digital communications, in more depth than in previous courses. It begins with sampling and conversion to digital signals. The course then moves to pulse code modulation, and lastly to digital transmission methods suitable for both sampled and data signals. Students will go in some depth with analytical and critical look into issues of noise and bandwidth of communications channel and their intimate relation to transmission rate. Some advanced communication systems will be introduced at appropriate places, as applications to the theoretical topics. These may include topics in Radar, Satellite communications, Spread Spectrum Communications, and CDMA. |
