| Description | This advanced course in painting from the human figure builds on approaches and techniques introduced in Figure Painting II. Increased emphasis will be placed on composition and design, figure/environment relationships, interpretive and descriptive colour systems, and articulated connections may be made between this course and the Figure Drawing IV course. Students may choose from a variety of approaches to painting from the figure in order to develop a deeper level of personal expression. Further challenges will include written assignments involving research as well as the explication and rationale of the work produced. |
