| Description | Students will learn about integrated disability management programs: key concepts and practices related to managing disabilities in the workplace. Students will gain knowledge of relevant legislation such as worker’s compensation, the Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act in managing disabilities in the workplace. Students will learn how to assess and accommodate employees based on different types of health conditions. Students will also learn about theoretical and applied concepts related to disability management and ergonomics. They will learn about the role of various stakeholders in the accommodation process. Students will learn about the challenges of maintaining ethical, legal requirements while balancing real life demands of the workplace as it pertains to managing disabilities. |
