| Description | This course was designed as a continuation from the level I course. It will introduce the student to the Rules and Regulations on topics that will include: interior and exterior lighting systems, fire alarms and fire pumps, emergency systems, unit equipment and exit signs, fuses, circuit breakers, ground fault protection and control devices, equipment in hazardous locations, hospitals and patient care areas, storage batteries, individual continuous and non-continuous duty service motors. Also the student must be able to calculate minimum conductor size and over-current device sizes required for various building types and motor types. The student also, will learn how to interpret prints of a commercial building with particular respect to structural, mechanical and electrical specifications. The student will learn determine the electrical characteristics and lay out of commercial distribution, service equipment and wiring, lighting, mechanical equipment and systems; prepare a material take off using drawings; solve and document construction problems and solutions and develop basic single line, schematic and wiring diagrams. |
