Description | This course is designed to elevate the student's knowledge about the major electrical/electronic systems found on heavy-duty equipment. Students will learn about the heavy-duty charging system. Students will cover the purpose and fundamentals of heavy-duty charging circuits. Students will learn various techniques for diagnosing and repair of the charging system using manufacturer recommendations and the latest tools found in the industry. Students gain extensive knowledge in the operation of the computer system found on heavy-duty equipment. Students will learn about the various types of programming found on heavy-duty equipment and how to manipulate these programming using the EST to tailor heavy duty equipment for a specific purpose. Students will study what is multiplexing, how it works and how to diagnose and make the repair on fully computer-controlled heavy-duty equipment. Students will learn how to safely work on electrical/electronic systems using the latest electronic tools while adhering to the industry and government regulations. |
