Description | This course will provide the students with the basic frameworks of employment law, including both statute and case law, and will show students how to identify and address potential legal problems in the workplace. Students will also observe thorough case analysis of several landmark appeal level decisions, a recent review of class action claims based on overtime pay, and an examination of recent legislative changes, including human rights enforcement mechanisms, greater protection for employees of temporary employment agencies, proposed changes to the Occupation Health and Safety Act and discussion on the Wage Earner Protection Program. |
