Course CodePW-243
Lecture hours per week3
Lab hours per week
Course AvailabilityOpen
Description

The students will study how energy is related to mass in engineering systems including in depth review of gravitational energy and systems of measurement. The students will study properties of fluids including hydrostatics, fluid flow, Bernoulli's Theorem and be able to calculate the energy requirements of pumping systems taking into account the head losses through hydraulic systems and the efficiency of pumps and motors. The course includes equipment found in process systems with special emphasis on pumps, pipes, valves and process drawings.
