| Description | Enhanced Academic Skills Pre-Intermediate is a full-semester course designed for pre-intermediate English language learners. Divided into two parts (Part A: Weeks 1-7 and Part B: Weeks 8-14), students will develop essential academic and communication skills, including studying techniques, vocabulary expansion, writing and speaking fluency. Students will learn to work effectively in groups, recognise the importance of academic integrity, and enhance pronunciation through practice with stress, intonation and connected speech. Part A (Places; Festivals and Celebrations) focuses on building essential academic and communication skills. Students will examine plagiarism, use digital tools like Luminate and practice email writing, which will culminate in a learning portfolio. Part B (Sports and Competition; People) focuses on practical communication through interactive tasks. Students will participate in online discussions, refine email communication and use academic vocabulary in context, which will be added to their learning portfolio. |
